Overview of Work in Process
Oracle Work in Process is a complete production management system. Work in Process is part of Oracle Applications, an integrated suite of business solutions. Work in Process supports discrete, project, repetitive, assemble-to-order, work order-less, lot based jobs, or a combination of manufacturing methods. Inquiries and reports give you a complete picture of transactions, materials, resources, costs, and job and schedule progress.

Defining Discrete Jobs Manually
N-->Discrete-->Discrete Jobs
Click on New Job
Press tab and enter the finished good in the assembly field, class and the job quantity.
Change the status to ‘Released’ and save the form.
Move Transactions:
Moving the job from one operation to other.
N-->Move transactions-->Move transactions
enter the job number ‘90603’ and press tab.
Follow the same move transaction form for all operations step by step. The above screen shot shows a single move transaction from 10 to 60.
After the entering the job number and the quantity, click on the ‘save’ button. This will move the job from 10 operation to 60 operation.
Now all the operations are completed and the job is now ready for moving it into inventory for stocking.
This final transaction is called ‘Completion trasaction’
Completion transactions:
N-->Material transactions-->Completion transactions

click on ‘continue’

enter the quantity and click on ‘Done’. This will complete the job process. Now AS54888 is available in inventory.
